Peru is an attractive country with a grand history, impressive mountains and deserts with different natives cultures, mestizes through out the country. Travelling in Peru by bike has been one of compromise and deception. It might have come to us at a time where we wished we were settle in Argentina and maybe a bit tired of hard roads and long days of pedalling. I do feel we haven’t seen the Peru I was waiting for. So we’ll have to come back!!
We were very happy to spend time with my cousin Elodie and her Peruvian husband, Frederick, in Lima.
I was also pleased to meet with Bob in Lima and Arequipa who I befriended with on my 1st trip.

We were equally content to share our pedal with Gabriel & Steph (2 young girls from Belgium) for a week.
It has been interesting to follow the presidential campaign on TV, in the newspapers and talking with the peruvians about politics with their hopes and fears. The country side and cities are covered with posters and paintings from the campaign. The choices are between Ollanta Humala (an ex military, left wing) and Keiko Fujimori (the daughter of an ex president, now in jail for fraud and human right abuse, right wing and favoured by the standing President Alan Garcia ). We’ll have the results by tomorrow.
